- Goemon is an elder man with a tall and lean frame. In spite of this, he walks with the poise of a man over ten years his junior. Aside from the wrinkles embedded in the corners of his eyes and along the ridge of his nostrils, only his fully-white hair lends to his old age. His hair is long and finely combed, typically left loose to hang down to the cusp of his back. His facial hair is typically fashioned into a bristly mustache-goatee that covers his upper lip. He has a deep grey eyes that are noted to be naturally piercing, even when not scrying.
As leader of the Hidden Leaf, Goemon is often seen in his formal Kage robes; a long, flowing, white haori worn over an equally-long red robe that is tied at the waist by a white sash. On less formal occasions, Goemon typically wears kimono of a variety of colors, with most of them having been designed by his wife, Orime.
[ Personality ]
- Well into his golden years, Goemon seems to exude all the characteristics of a man whose long and turbulent life is slowing winding down to a serene calm. He is hardly ever perturbed, and has a broad sense of humor, laughing even at things most others wouldn’t consider particularly humorous. He enjoys many different hobbies---everything from playing classical board games to karaoke and dancing to fishing---and can often be found roaming the Hidden Leaf, speaking to his many brethren. To nearly all those that he has encountered on amiable terms, he has an infectious quality about him that inexplicably brings joy to those around him.
As a veteran of both the First Shinobi World War and the warring states period, Goemon is versed in nearly all facets of the shinobi arts and openly teaches all those who seek his aid in bettering themselves in their practice. Not known to take a particular pupil under his wing, however, as he considers all the rising shinobi of the village his underlings, those scant few he has chosen have become excellent shinobi, going on to reach great success and renown. To the youth, he is both expectant and understanding, viewed as a surrogate grandfather to many.
He is a pacifist at heart, having acted as the spearhead for the negotiations leading to the treaty that ended the first war as well as the push toward arms limitation that followed. In a world struck by the horrors and tragedies of the first-known, full-scale war between shinobi nations, his passive ideals have earned him the reputation of being seen as a foolish or even senile, old man. In his purpose, however, Goemon is steadfast.
In combat, Goemon moves with the graceful fluency of a man as experienced in warfare as he is. He rarely moves to kill his opponent, however, unless he deems their existence an absolute treat to the village and the peace he strives toward.
