Fire Release (火遁, Katon) is one of the basic elemental nature transformations. It is performed by moulding superheated chakra inside the stomach before releasing it via the lungs and mouth. There are also variants to this in the form of some mediums such as the use of gun powder, ash, and flammable gas.

The advantage offered by Fire Release techniques is the seamless, round-to-round effect allowed by spitting techniques by repaying half the cost in consecutive rounds. However, the effectiveness of the technique decreases with each round.

All Fire Release techniques are punctuated by the Tiger hand seal.

Endan (Flame Bullet) - 400 Ninjutsu

This technique is executed by the user gathering oil in their mouth which is created by chakra, spitting it out, and igniting it. It is also possible to shoot out a series of flame bullets by partitioning the oil, or a continuous flamethrower. The flames burns for 3 rounds, and cannot be put out by ordinary means.


Housenka (Phoenix Sage Fire) - 600 Ninjutsu

This technique creates a volley of small fireballs, which are sent flying in an unpredictable manner inside a 5m spread attack. In addition, the flames are controlled one by one with chakra, so avoiding them all is extremely difficult. Shuriken can also be concealed within the flames, creating an unexpected secondary surprise attack.


Kasumi Enbu (Mist Blaze Dance) - 700 Ninjutsu

The user is able to create and blow a flammable gas from their lungs. The gas fills a 10m radius at maximum. Once it comes in contact with fire or spark, the gas ignites into a large fireball.


Goukakyuu (Great Fireball) - 990 Ninjutsu

A technique where chakra kneaded inside the body is converted into fire and expelled from the mouth as a continuous flame-thrower in a 10m-wide cone.

Haisekishou (Ash Pile Burning) - 1,100 Ninjutsu

The user spews a stream of chakra infused gun-powder from their mouth, which creates a cloud within a 5m radius. After surrounding the enemy with the ash, the user can ignite it to create a spark, resulting in a violent explosion, burning the enemy. The radius of the cloud expands by 1m for every 1,000 Ninjutsu, to a maximum of 15m.


Karyuu Endan (Fire Dragon Flame Bullet) - 3,500 Ninjutsu

The user kneads their chakra into flames, which are then manipulated into a genuine-looking dragon. The flames are divided to launch a left side, right side, and frontal assault in all three directions at once, burning the enemy from the inside out.


Gouryuuka (Great Dragon Fire) - 4,875 Ninjutsu

The user compresses a large amount of chakra built up inside their body and changes it into a dragon head-shaped fireball. The user then skillfully manipulates that great fire, and attacks their opponent. Even outside of the attack range, its power and reliability are stressed; the flames have a high temperature, searing the skin of those within 3m.

Ryuuen Houka (Dragon Flame Release Song) - 6,000 Ninjutsu

Kneading a large amount of chakra inside the body, the user molds each shot of fire into a compressed form of the Great Dragon Fire technique, making them far hotter than their counterpart. The maximum number of shots fired per round is equal to Ninjutsu/2,000.


Gouka Mekkyaku (Great Fire Annihilation) - 8,000 Ninjutsu

An advanced version of the Great Fireball technique, this flamethrower expelled from the lips extends to a 15m-wide cone and is several times hotter than its counterpart, burning nearly white-hot. Covering a wide range, this technique is especially effective against an enemy with superior numbers.
